5 Things I'm Doing This January

I like to think of myself as spring / summer girl which in return means I particularly dislike winter. It takes a lot for me to make it unscathed through the winter months and some extra effort to enjoy myself in the dark mornings and evenings. Now that Christmas is over I've been doing a few things which I've found have really made a difference to those January evenings.

1. I have taken a massive leap and quit the gym. I mean, that's really not much of a leap when you considered that I'd only been to the gym a handful of times in the last six months but anyway, I think I still deserve a well done for re-claiming my hard earned money every month. Whilst it might not seem like the 'on trend' thing to be saying in January (yes i'm talking about all you New Years resolutioners) its has definitely been the right move for me. Instead I've set up weekly meetings with my friend to do home work outs using Youtube. In my mind January should definitely be a cosy month, so what better way to start than with a Yoga series (my favourite is Yoga with Adriene) . I'd far rather do a yoga session with my bestie from the comfort of my own home than venture out in the cold to a jam packed gym. I'm feeling pretty relaxed right now and my bank balance is thanking me too!

2. To set the vibe for my evening yoga sessions, and equally Netflix and Chill, I've fallen for what every blogger will tell you makes their winter routine - candles, fairy lights and incense. I know its cliche but i'd forgotten how much I enjoyed the cosy atmosphere. I'm talking full on leave your Christmas lights up in your living room and fill small jars with battery powered lights. Hello hygge heaven!

3. I'm getting creative. I've started blogging again, I'm keeping a journal and I'm taking a beauty class to learn more about makeup

4. I'm embracing pyjama days. Why get dressed when its cold and windy outside?

5. I'm sipping new teas. Thanks to my boyfriend buying me a range of teas for my birthday I now have quite the selection. My favourite is the Pukka Tea called Cleanse. I'll never drink normal tea again!

  1. Totally not a bad thing to quit your gym membership if it's just money down the drain. Good for you, more money for going out to dinner (or was that the wrong thing to say haha)
